Medico-Legal Occupational Therapy Assessment and Report

I provide independent medico-legal occupational therapy assessments and reports for children and young people where specialist opinion is required for legal or tribunal purposes. These assessments are detailed, objective, and based on comprehensive functional evaluation.

Medico-legal assessments involve a thorough review of relevant documentation, detailed assessment of the child’s occupational performance, and careful consideration of how identified difficulties impact daily functioning, education, and participation. Where appropriate, information from parents and schools is integrated to provide a clear and balanced picture of the child’s needs.

Reports are clearly structured, evidence-based, and written to support legal processes such as EHCP appeals, SEND tribunals, and other medico-legal proceedings. Recommendations are practical, specific, and focused on functional outcomes, with the aim of supporting informed decision-making.

Where required, I am able to attend SEND Tribunal hearings to provide independent occupational therapy evidence and to clarify assessment findings and recommendations. My role is to assist the Tribunal through clear, objective, and evidence-based professional opinion.
